Blog Post: The Force is not strong with the PSP Slim...

Want to increase your battery power and enjoy the sweet Darth Vader silkscreen image? Sorry, folks, ain't happening. Check out the pics of this disheartening discovery.

After getting my hands on the new PSP (aka the PSP-2001, PSP 2 or PSP Slim) a few months ago, I traded my original in order to reserve the newer model. While I was tempted to pick up one of the two models last month, I decided that the maximum geek potential lay in the Star Wars Limited Edition. You know, the one that has a Darth Vader silkscreen image on the back?

I've enjoyed it thoroughly over the last few days, catching up on games that I missed during my brief PSP hiatus, as well as some amazing new releases this week (Final Fantasy Tactics FTW!). Since we've got a few of the old model PSPs laying about in the office, I figured I'd unlock my PSPs full potential, its "Force" if you will, by attaching the longer-lasting original PSP battery to the new PSP. Unfortunately, I made the disheartening discovery that you cannot attach the Darth Vader battery pack cover to a PSP Slim with the larger battery. Why didn't Sony put the silkscreen on the opposite side? Will the company sell a replacement battery pack for a limited edition system? Hopefully, it will, because I don't appreciate having to choose between battery power and force power.

Check out the pics read more of this emotional assault with a battery:
